Privacy policy
How A & A Developments NE Ltd handles personal information on this website. Effective date: 1 October 2026. This policy covers this website only; project and client data is handled under separate, contract-specific arrangements.
1. Who we are
A & A DEVELOPMENTS NE LTD. ("we", "us") is a property development and refurbishment company. Our registered and trading address is 21 Olive Street, Sunderland, SR1 3PE, England, and the company is directed by Sabir Ahmed. We are the data controller for the personal information processed through this website. You can reach us at any time at office@aandevelopments-ne.co.uk.
2. What personal data we collect
We keep this website deliberately lean. The personal information we may hold about you falls into three groups:
2.1 Information you send us directly
If you email us — for example to discuss a building, request a feasibility conversation, or ask about this policy — we hold your name, email address, the contents of your message, and any further details you choose to share (such as a building address or telephone number). We use this information only to respond to your enquiry and, where a conversation becomes a working relationship, to manage that relationship.
2.2 Server logs
Like almost every website, the server hosting this site keeps standard technical logs, which may include your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you request, the time of each request, and the referring page. We use these logs for security monitoring, fault-finding, and understanding aggregate traffic patterns. We do not use them to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine them with the contents of your emails.
2.3 Cookies and local storage
This site stores your cookie-consent choice in your browser's local storage under a site-specific key. Depending on the choice you make in our consent banner, small numbers of third-party cookies may also be set for analytics and advertising purposes. Full details are set out in our cookie policy.
3. Embedded Google Maps
The contact page embeds a Google Maps frame so visitors can see our office location. When the map loads, your browser connects directly to Google, and Google may set its own cookies and process personal data (including your IP address and device information) under its own privacy policy. We embed the map in privacy-enhanced mode with lazy loading, but we cannot control what Google does once the map loads. If you prefer not to interact with Google services, use the postal address shown on the page instead of the map.
4. Microsoft Advertising
Pages on this site may display advertisements served by Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads). Microsoft may use cookies and similar identifiers to serve, measure, and personalise those advertisements, and to prevent fraudulent or repeated impressions. Where you have accepted advertising cookies in our consent banner, Microsoft may use your visit to help select more relevant adverts. Please see our advertising policy for how Microsoft handles data and how to opt out, and Microsoft's own privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com.
5. How long we keep personal data
- Enquiry emails are kept for up to 24 months after our last correspondence with you, unless an ongoing project requires them for longer.
- Server logs are rotated and deleted automatically, typically within 30 days.
- Consent records in local storage persist in your own browser until you clear them or use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
6. Who we share data with
We never sell personal data. The limited sharing that occurs is with the service providers described above — our hosting provider (server logs), Google (embedded map), and Microsoft (advertising) — each acting under its own privacy terms, and only where strictly needed to provide the relevant feature. We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, or a court order.
7. Your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
- Restriction and objection — ask us to limit or stop certain processing.
- Portability — receive the data you gave us in a structured, commonly used format.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent (for example, for non-essential cookies), withdraw it at any time without affecting anything already done.
To exercise any of these rights, email office@aandevelopments-ne.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month. There is no fee for making a request, though we may ask for information to confirm your identity.
8. Complaints to the ICO
If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's supervisory authority for data protection. You can reach the ICO at ico.org.uk, by telephone on 0303 123 1113, or by post at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we change the services embedded in the site or the law changes. The version on this page always applies, and the effective date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be flagged by the consent banner where they affect cookies.
